Digital images can be made accessible to the local police/security company via the Internet.

Axis network cameras and video servers can be connected via standard modems or cellular phone (e.g. GSM, CDMA, TDMA or CDPD) modems.

Each AXIS 2400 Video Server can connect up to four analog cameras.

With Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras, the police would have the possibility to zoom in on details.

A host computer will be needed for hosting the live images and the actual Web site.

This hosting service can be provided by an ISP (Internet Service Provider).

The cameras can either send images to the host computer automatically, or the host computer can actively retrieve the images from the cameras.

Note: If you need to obtain frame rates of more than one frame per second, you would probably use DSL modems or GPRS for the data transmission
